Questions

Common enquiries

What happens during the Pension Position Sitting?
The firm listens to your situation without interruption, then reviews any documents you have brought. At the close of the sitting, a measured initial view is shared. A written note summarising that view is sent to you shortly after, so you may consider the matter at home without any sense of urgency.
How long does a pension defence matter typically take?
This varies considerably depending on the circumstances. Simple correspondence matters may be resolved within a few weeks. Formal proceedings take longer. The firm gives a candid estimate at the outset and keeps the client informed as the matter develops. No timeline is presented as certain where it is not.
What documents should I bring to the first sitting?
Bring whatever you have — pension statements, correspondence from the scheme administrator, CPF account statements, and any letters referring to the reduction or withholding of entitlements. If documents are incomplete, that is not an obstacle; the firm can advise on what else may be needed.
Are fees charged per sitting or per matter?
Each service has a fixed fee as stated. The Pension Position Sitting is SGD 170. The Steady Defence of Pension Entitlements is SGD 460. The Coordinated Retirement Documentation service is SGD 320. These fees cover the scope described. Should additional work become necessary, this is discussed with the client before any commitment is made.
Can I bring a family member to the sitting?
Yes. A trusted family member or friend is welcome to attend. The Coordinated Retirement Documentation service specifically allows time for family discussion as part of the process. Please mention this when making your enquiry so that the meeting room may be arranged accordingly.
Is the firm able to handle CPF-related matters?
Yes. CPF matters, including nominee designations and disputes arising from CPF accounts, fall within the firm's area of work. The Coordinated Retirement Documentation service specifically includes alignment of beneficiary nominations on CPF accounts alongside the will and lasting power of attorney.
